This exquisite portrait of a beautiful woman, was painted by Fedoskino Artist Alimpiada Dokuchaeva. She is a wife of well-known artist Yevgeniy Dokuchaev.
The portrait is masterfully executed-tone, shade and light are perfect. Particularly impressive is the fine detail of the woman's dress: Dokuchaev has created the delicacy and intricacy of cloth with his brush. The precision here is astounding--every pleat and ruffle is perfect. The shading is so correct, that you would swear there was really a light shining from above.
The portrait is framed with a gold line. Two parallel lines wrap around the box's sides.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. It has a hinge from the left of the composition and rests on four legs. The box is signed with the artist's name.
