This elegant piece has been created by Lubov Pashinina who is an expert in decoration of lacquer boxes. In the middle of the box there is a portrait of a beautiful lady painted over a shinning piece of mother-of-pearl. The portrait is encompassed with the gold metal frame. The box is covered with brown lacquer mixed with gold powder; tiny and very thin gold veins are scattered against the brown background of the box's exterior except the exterior bottom. The box's interior is covered with the dark crimson velvety material.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened from the top of the portrait. The box can be closed firmly by means of a special adjustment that looks like a small gold metal pin that is placed into the socket when the box is closed. The box rests on four small rounded gold metal legs. The work is signed with the artist's name.
