Description:

This beautiful box painted by A. Mitusov shows the viewer how Moscow looked like in the beginning of the 19th century. Ramshackle wooden peasant houses are built not far from the Kremlin, the banks of the Moskva River are covered with fresh vegetation, and there are no asphalted, gas-polluted roads and noisy cars.
Blue tones of oils predominate here. A large piece of mother-of-pearl creates brilliance of the river. The scene and the box's sides are decorated with silver scan patterns. The box's exterior imitates the coloring of marble (dark and light blue veins and blurry spots are scattered against the black lacquered surface). The interior is traditionally red.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
