This beautiful box has been painted by Dmitry Sedov. It shows the Russian forest at a moonlit night. The most part of the scene is painted in brilliant silver paint while the rest part of the scene is drawn in blue tones of oils. Such a palette suits perfectly for reproduction of the moonlit forest. A piece of mother-of-pearl shines brightly through the mushrooms painted in the foreground. Some areas of the scene as some of the mushrooms and the ground are slightly highlighted with gold paint.
The box's sides are decorated with whimsical gold patterns composed of gold dots.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2007.
