This stylish box is a creation of the prominent Fedoskino artist, Alexey Korchagin, whose works appear in every major book on Fedoskino lacquer miniature painting. Korchagin is one of the modern Fedoskino painters who pioneer new frontiers in Russian Lacquer Art.
Korchagin Alexey Viktorovich was born in 1960 in Temir-Tau, Kemerovo Region (in Sibiria).He finished Fedoskino Art School in 1982, and the first original works appeared in 1984.Member of Russian Union Artists since 1996.He is a participant of numerous different Exhibitions and his works are in All-Russia Applied and Folk Art Museum in Moscow and in the Historical Museum of town of Sergiev Posad.
Here artist has painted the bright green summer landscape imitating mosaic technique! He has achieved the mosaic effect by painting the landscape with tiny square strokes of equal size and definite color. For the last several years this style become a feature of his Art Forms.
The box is made of paper-mache. The hinge is on a top of the compositon.
The work is decorated with vases full of flowers on each back side of a box painted in gold and the box is signed by the artist under the one of the vases(on the front side).
