This enticing box is a creation of Igor Evmenenko from the village of Fedoskino. Igor has been working many-many years as a teacher in Fedoskino Art School.
The composition shows the dragonflies hovering over flowers. The scene is painted in bright oils over the black background in the realistic style with photo quality accuracy. The fragile, transparent wings of the dragonflies are detailed with yellow paints. The painting is extended on the box's sides where the artist continues to draw flowers and various insects. An enchanting work!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened on the top of the composition. The box rests on a flat lid. The work is signed with the name of the artist, and the year of 2007.
