This peaceful winter landscape has been painted by the talented Fedoskino landscape artist Yuriy Aldoshkin. In the foreground we can see the picturesque banks of the Ucha River covered with deep snowdrifts while in the background the village of Fedoskino is depicted.
The scene is brilliantly painted in light blue tones. Gold dust is used to create a sparkle of the snow on the branches of the trees. The edges of the lid are decorated with a gold line; another gold line wraps around the box's sides. The box's exterior is covered with black lacquer mixed with gold and silver dust; its interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino.
