This serene winter landscape is a creation of Sergey Kirsanov, one of the most talented modern Fedoskino landscape artists. The scene is nicely painted in the realistic style. A piece of mother-of-pearl that has blue, pink and green undertones is set into the upper part of the scene to create a sparkle of the sky.
The scene is framed with a simple gold pattern. The box's exterior imitates a stone color (very thin grey veins are scattered against the black background). Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene,and the box rests on the flat bottom.The work is signed with the artist's name.
