This gorgeous summer landscape was created by well known Fedoskino artist Vladimir Serdodetskov. His work brings you into a place, a setting of sketched reality. Light blue, dark blue and grey tones of oils help the artist to reproduce the atmosphere a warm summer night. Gold powder shines through the oils in some areas of the scene enlivening this rather dark palette.
The scene is framed with a thin gold line. Two parallel gold lines wrap around the box's sides. The box's sides imitate marble (blue blurry spots are scattered against the black lacquered background).
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
