Alexander Chirkov is an author of this truly gorgeous box. The work is called “Morning”, and shows a picturesque view of the Russian countryside. The scene is painted over silver paint that sparkles dramatically through the oils. Two pieces of mother-of-pearl are set into the river, and each of them glistens with a variety of tones ranging from bright violet and green to pale gold and pink. Gold paint is used to paint the thin tree located in the left part of the composition, and the grass drawn in the left bottom corner.
The scene is decorated a nice gold pattern usual for all Chirkov's works. The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes its interior. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, Fedoskino and the year of 2007.
