The talented Fedoskino artist Yevgeniy Shishkin has painted this beautiful box. The artist is obviously enchanted with the beauty of Russian countryside!
Here artist shows us very peaceful summer day. He shows us a small Russian village located on a bank of a small river. The artist is showing the village from the other side of a the river and we are taking a look at it through a small birch-tree forest.
The transition of colors is invisible, and that is why the scene looks very realistic. Aluminum powder highlights the sky and the grass, while gold paint also can be found in the sun, which is hidden in the trunks of trees.
Gold line is used to frame the scene, while the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
