The talented Fedoskino artist, Svetlana Chirkova, continues to astonish the viewer with her gorgeous female portraits. The work is called “Fragile Beauty”, and shows a beautiful woman standing in front of the bush. A couple of bright feathered and very detailed birds sit on the branches of this bush.
Silver powder that has been used as an underlayer of the portrait helps to strengthen the colors. Silver paint is also used to detail the woman's hair, and to paint the bush. The portrait is framed with a nice floral pattern drawn in oils over silver powder. The box's exterior is covered with brown lacquer mixed with silver powder, while the interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the left of the portrait, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino lacquered miniature, the title and the year of 2007.
