Description:

Yuriy Mikhalyov is the artist who painted this peaceful scene. He is a very popular and famous Fedoskino artist. His works can be found in many catalogues and books on Russian lacquered miniature Art.
The palette chosen by the artist, who is known for his realistic architecture in composition, works wonders. Using mainly white, grey and blue oil paint he has managed to depict this dream-like scene. Silver powder is used to highlight the crowns of the trees, and the grass.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The scene is framed with two parallel lines drawn in light blue oils. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2007.
