This small attractive and very detailed box is a creation of Tamara Volodina. It shows Elves enjoying the beginning of spring when fruit trees are covered with fresh green leaves and fluffy white blossoms. The elves fly up to the blossoms to taste their sweet nectar and enjoy their delicate aroma.
The box's exterior is light blue. On the box's sides the artist continues to paint the blossoms. Mother-of-pearl shines through the dress of the elf-girl. Gold metal leaf is used to detail the costumes of the elves and some of the blossoms. Both mother-of-pearl and gold metal leaf produce a magic sparkling that charms the viewer from the first sight.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It has a hinge from the left of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the title (“Spring”) and the year (2007) on the box's exterior bottom.
