Description:

The famous Fedoskino artist Sergey Kirsanov created this beautiful box. He is an expert in painting landscapes, and this beautiful winter scene proves this fact. Here he has depicted a small Russian village covered with deep snowdrifts.
The scene is painted in light blue, grey and pink tones of oils. A large piece of mother-of-pearl that has grey and pink undertones is set into the sky to create the sparkle of the sunset. This artwork is executed scrupulously, with all the details of the landscape faithfully reproduced!
The scene is framed with so called "scan patterns" composed of tiny shapes hand punched from silver metal sheets and then painstakingly affixed by hand to the box.
The box's sides are covered with dark grey and blue palette veins to imitate the coloring of a stone. This decoration is made very thin and professional and the box looks very attractive! The interior of the box is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge has been fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
Awesome piece!
