This interesting work has been painted by Dmitry Tipyakov from the village of Fedoskino. It continues the artist's "Space" theme dedicated to his philosophic ideas on this subject. The work is called "Reflection". Here we can see a small Russian village built on the riverbank. The action takes place at night. The mirror like surface of the river reflects the myriads of stars. Space is very close to the planet of Earth.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title and the year of 2008.
