Svetlana Chirkova from the village of Fedoskino is the talented artist who created this elegant portrait of a beautiful woman who looks at a distance with a slight smile. She is painted surrounded with roses. Her appearance is dreamy and romantic.
To paint this work the artist has used a delicate palette filled with various shades of brown. The portrait is framed with a thin gold line; another thin gold line decorates the edges of the lid. The area between the portrait and the lid's edges is filled with a nice tartan pattern painted in brown oils.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the left of the portrait, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed by the artist.
