Nikolay Demyanenkov of Fedoskino is the expert craftsman responsible for this adorable creation using Russian lacquer miniature artistry. Demyanenko has a unique style that he uses for this box. The box is carved into a log that has a hollow interior. The beaver that is crafted three-dimensionally is attached to the log. The box has a lid at the top of the log above the beaver's head. The lid is hinged, and supplied with a tiny gold metal bead for ease of opening. On the lid the artist has painted a fisherman catching fish while the rest part of the box exterior depicts the beaver and the log. The interior is covered with red lacquer. The box is made out of paper-mache that is of the finest quality. The work is signed with the artist's name on the lid's interior.
