This genuine piece of Russian artistry is a masterful representation of natural beauty. Yuriy Aldoshkin of Fedoskino is the talent responsible for this brilliant work. Here he depicts a peaceful winter landscape. Pale blue, brown and grey tones of oils help him to express a subtle beauty of the Russian countryside in winter. Brilliant gold paint is used to highlight the trees.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer mixed with gold powder is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The scene is framed with a gold band, another gold band wraps around the box's sides. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the year of 2007, and the title (“Silence”).
