Margarita Belova is the exceptional talent behind this work of art. Here she depicts the Snowmaiden looking with admiration at a couple of red-breasted bullfinches. Light blue tones of oils suitable for depiction of a winter scene predominate here. Gold paint is used to detail the Snowmaiden's costume, and shine through the bullfinches' breasts.
The scene is framed with a luxuriant silver scan pattern composed of metal shapes glued to the box manually. On the box's sides Belova has painted shining, silver snowflakes that perfectly suit the chosen theme.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes its interior. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title (“Bullfinches”), and the village of Fedoskino.
