This large, originally shaped box was painted by Tatiana Frolova from the village of Fedoskino. It shows a sentimental scene. All family has gathered near the bed of the sick father. To entertain him, the children have brought him stuffed birds. They love their father and they want him feel better.
Various shades of brown oils predominate here. A shining piece of mother-of-pearl is set into the middle of the scene. The scene is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines decorate the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2008.
