Description:

The famous oil on canvas painting entitled “The Portrait of A.D. Solomirskaya inspired a talented Fedoskino artist, Bebikhov, to create this box. This portrait was originally painted by the great Russian artist, Ivan Kuzmich Makarov (1822-1897), who is known for creating portraits of Pushkin's contemporaries. Most of the people portrayed by him were Pushkin's relatives and friends.
The portrait shows Anna Dmitrievna Solomirskaya whose father was the owner of the Sysertsky Region in Ural. Noble appearance of the depicted woman, her beauty and charm are accentuated by a gentle combination of pink, white and grey tones. Very beautiful!
The portrait is framed with a band of gold paint. The base of the box is decorated with an elegant tartan pattern painted in green and brown oils, and framed with brilliant gold bands.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the portrait, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the year of 2008, and the title (“Portrait of A.D. Solomirskaya”).
