This enchanting piece of exceptional Russian artistry was created by the vastly talented Turbeneva of Fedoskino. It shows a Renascence style painting. Using light brown and blue oils the artist has masterfully painted beautiful shepherdesses pasturing cows in the paradise.
The composition is framed with a wide band painted in green oils that is outlined with gold. The base of the box has two lines done in gold painted parallel to each other, the bottom line slightly thicker than the other.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino.
