Description:

This portrait a young beautiful woman wiping herself with a towel after bathing is a creation of Bebikhov from the village of Fedoskino. It is an interpretation of the famous canvas-on-oil painting "Bather" painted by Timofey Neff (1804 - 1876) in 1844. This masterpiece is kept in the Novgorod State Museum.
The outer edge of the lid is painted with a fine band of gold paint. The base of the box has two lines done in gold painted parallel to each other, the bottom line slightly thicker than the other.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the portrait, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title (“Bather”), the year of 2007 and the village of Fedoskino.
