This small oval box is a creation of Valeriy Kovalyov from the village of Fedoskino. The work is called “A Grandson”, and shows a little boy enjoying riding in the sledge together with his grandpa and grandma. Light blue tones of oils help the artist to create a sensation of the snow-covered Russian countryside.
The box's exterior is of light blue tone. On the box's sides and on the box's exterior bottom the artist continues to paint the snow swirling in the air. The box's interior is covered with red lacquer, and decorated with blue snowflakes and frost patterns painted in oils.
The box is constructed out of high-quality paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the name of the artist, and the title.
