Description: This splendid Fedoskino box is a creation of the outstanding artist, Irina Butsinskaya. Irina's works are notable for recognizable style of painting, fine brush mastery, beautiful color treatment and graceful execution. Her husband, Yury Butsinsky, is one of the leading Fedoskino artists.
The box shows the beautiful girl feeding birds, and demonstrates Butsinskaya's impeccable painting technique. One large piece of mother-of-pearl is set into the center of the scene where the girl's kerchief is painted, and another piece is inlaid into the left, upper corner of the scene where the birds are depicted. One more piece of mother-of-pearl can be found in the right, bottom corner of the scene where the plants are painted. Brilliant pieces of gold metal leaf shine brightly through some leaves of the trees and plants. The depicted scene is an absolute delight!
The scene is framed with a thin gold line. The box's exterior imitates a stone color (brown blurry spots and veins are scattered against the light blue background). For additional decoration the box's exterior is covered with gold dust.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2009.
