Tatyana Tipyakova of Fedoskino is the accomplished master responsible for the gorgeous artistry before you. On the box's lid the artist has expressively painted the beautiful summer landscape. It is a warm, summer evening. The setting sun shines brightly in the sky. It emanates golden rays and makes the sky shimmer with red, orange and yellow tones. The waving river reflects the fire of the skies and glow with red and orange undertones.
Green tones are used to paint the landscape whereas the sunset is painted in a variety of tones raging from pink to violet. Radiance of the river is achieved with the help of mother-of-pearl inlay and silver powder. Gold dust is spread throughout the scene, and this makes it more beautiful.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the name of the artist, the title (“Beginning of Summer”) and the year of 2007.
