This originally shaped small box is a wonderful creation of Yuliya Danilina. It shows the allegory of night. The artist imagines Night as a beautiful young girl. With each her step, it becomes darker and darker in the forest. Her reign lasts till the dawn when the first sun rays paint the sky with faint pink tones.
The palette chosen for this scene contains blue and grey tones. The details are enhanced with lustrous gold paint. The edges of the lid are decorated with elegant gold ornaments. The box's sides are decorated with gold stars. The box's exterior imitates a stone color (light blue blurry spots and veins are scattered against the black lacquered surface of the box's exterior). The box's interior is covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The work is signed with the name of the artist, the title (“Night”) and the year of 2009.
