This picturesque Italian landscape has been painted by Dmitry Bebikhov. The colors taken from the palette are very natural and realistic. The scene is idyllic and peaceful. It demonstrates the artist's impeccable painting technique as everything here is painted in diminutive brushstrokes that are absolutely invisible.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the name of the artist, the title (“Italian Landscape”) and the village of Fedoskino.
