This wonderful composition of a girl with a doll is a charming creation of Sergey Golubyonkov. Exceptional technique and masterful skill are needed to create this work. It is as entrancing as it is traditional.
There is great texture throughout the piece. The girl's hair and her dress are intensely vivid. Golubyonkov uses a unique blend of various shades of green oils in order to create the appearance of a background behind the girl. The dog is also looks like real! Talent laden artistry.
The portrait is framed with a thin gold line. Two parallel gold lines wrap around the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.The lid is hinged from the left of the portrait, and the box rests on four legs.
The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
