Turbeneova Irina is the author of this magnificent box. With extreme intricacy and sensitivity she depicts here some scenes from "The Lord of the Rings", an epic high fantasy novel written by philologist J.R.R. Tolkien.
There is much action in the composition that is why it is very interesting to scan the drawing. Each character has his individual look and painted with a great accuracy.

The scene is framed with a golden line, another golden line is bordered the edge of a lid of the box.The boxes sides are decorated with two parallel golden lines as well.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box.The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
