Description:

While contemplating this enticing box, the viewer can immediately recognize a unique, painting style of Sergey Knyazev. His works are always bright and festive. They may astonish the viewer with a rich color palette and an original design. His wonderful creations are always pleasant to contemplate!!!
The box continues the artist's series of works dedicated to old Russian town, and shows a picturesque view of the town of Suzdal.
Suzdal being one of the oldest Russian towns is an important tourist center nowadays. It features many fine examples of old Russian architecture — most of them churches and monasteries.
The scene is painted in the recognizable Knyazev's style in radiant oils over sparkling silver powder gold and silver paints are used to highlight and detail the drawing. The street lamps are painted over the pieces of mother-of-peal of smaller size that shimmer with bright blue and green tones. The composition is multi-layered and this produces a three-dimensional effect and creates a dynamic experience for the eye. Fantastically beautiful!
The box's exterior is decorated with the Knyazev style gold ornamentation in the form of scattered golden spots that resemble stars.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint its exterior while red lacquer completes its interior. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four metal-like legs. The work is signed, dated (2010) and titled (“A Road to a Church”) by the artist in gold paints on the lid's interior.
