This gorgeous lacquer box has been painted by talented Fedoskino artist Dmitriy Tipyakov!
Dmitriy really likes to paint landscape scenes. This might comes from his mother-prominent Fedoskino artist-Tatiana Tipyakova, who is also famous by her outstanding landscape scenes.
The box's lid is richly decorated. In the middle of each side we can see a piece of mother-of-pearl.
The scene is painted on shining pearl surface. We can see a small island in the middle of the river and a small wooden boat on the front of the composition. There is a forest in the perspective of the painting. The scene is encompassed with a gold metal frame adorned with floral relief work.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The exterior of the piece is painted with a creamy white lacquer while the interior is covered with a beige velvety material. The lid is hinged from the left of the composition and the box rests on four small, rounded gold metal legs. The work is signed with the artist's name.
