Description: This brilliant example of Fedoskino realism has been created by Shavirin Boris. It features a group of falconers riding their horses passing through the Red Square.
Falconer is a post in the household of Grand Princes. Falconers had to supply game to the tsar's court and got some benefits therefore. In the background we can see the St.-Basil's Cathedral and the fragment of the Kremlin's wall.
The faces of all characters are expressively and distinctly painted. Their costumes reflect the fashion at the times of Ivan the Terrible (the 16th century). The skillfully painted horses is another proof of the artist's talent. The architecture painted in pale gray tones looks as if it is fogged. Undoubtedly, this box may adorn any collection as it deserves attention of any lacquer miniature enthusiast.
The edges of the lid and the box's sides are decorated with intricate gold patterns. The exterior of the box is covered with black lacquer dotted with metal gold blurry spots, while the box' interior is traditionally red.
The box is made out of paper-mache made. The box has a hinge from the left of the composition and rests on a flat bottom. The box is signed with the artist's name, the village of Fedoskino, and the year of 2010.
