Description:

This splendid work is a creation of talented Master Knyazev Sergey. He has a recognizable painting style that is so highly estimated by collectors of lacquer miniature boxes all over the world.
With extreme intricacy and sensitivity an Artist depicts here some scenes from "Lord of the Rings", an epic high fantasy novel written by philologist J.R.R. Tolkien.
The composition might looks not very busy from the first look, but it is very interesting to check the drawing. Each character has his individual look and painted with a great accuracy! Each minute detail is enhanced with brilliant paint!
The box's exterior is covered with silver powder, and this silver area is additionally covered with light violet and brown oils. On the box's front side Knyazev has painted valleys and mountains.
The box's interior is covered with red lacquer. On the lid's interior the artist has written in gold his name, the title "Lord of the Rings", Fedoskino and the year of 2010. This box is made of papier mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs.
Here we present you Knyazev's annotation to his work: "The work is made in the style of fantasy with a philosophic bias. With the help of high-quality mother-of-pearl, silver powder and transparent paints, the effect of three-dimensionality has been achieved!
