Irina Turbeneova is the outstanding Fedoskino artist who has managed to create such a beautiful box. The subject is based on Lewis Carroll's classic tale "Alice in Wonderland". Here we can see the White Rabbit who hastens to meet with the Duchess and Alice who is much taller in size than the house she elbows against.
The artist continues to paint the fantastic landscape of the Wonderland on the box's sides. The palette that she has used is dominated by the pastel tones of oils.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2010.
