The famous Fedoskino artist Alexey Chirkov is the creator of this gorgeous box. Alexey is fond of owls, and he has already created a series of works dedicated to these enigmatic birds of prey. This is another work from this series. It is called "In the Nest", and shows the mother-owl feeding its nestlings.
Most part of the composition is painted in metal gold paint. Mother-of-pearl that shines brightly with violet and green undertones is set into the river to fill the scene with a magic glow.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The scene is framed with a gold line while the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the village of Fedoskino, the title and the year of 2010 on the box's exterior bottom.
