This elegant box has been created by the outstanding Fedoskino artist, Margarita Belova. It shows two Russian peasant women standing near the sunflowers. The scene is painted in light blue oils. The costumes of the characters are painted over shining mother-of-pearl inlay and detailed with gold paint and gold metal leaf inlay.
The box is masterfully decorated. The edges of the lid and the box's sides are decorated with stylish, silver scan patterns. The box's exterior is covered with blue lacquer mixed with silver dust. The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
