One of the leading Fedoskino artists, Marina Rogatova, is the author of this marvelous box. It shows two paradise birds walking in the splendid garden. The entire scene shimmers magically being painted over gold metal powder. The box's exterior is covered with light grey lacquer while the interior is traditionally red. On the box's sides the artist has painted a beautiful pattern composed of a peacock's feathers.
In this work like in each of her previous boxes Rogatova demonstrates fine brush mastery and refined color combinations. Owing to her talent, artistic skill and professionalism Rogatova has been able to create this idealized and poetic image.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino on the lid's interior.
