This divine beauty is a creation of the experienced and very talented Fedoskino artist Elena Aldoshkina. Elena has elaborated her own style of painting. Her unique boxes can be recognized by a beautiful palette filled with sky blue oils combined with gold metal paints and by distinctively painted attractive characters with large kind eyes.
The box shows a peasant girl standing under an apple tree holding a basket filled with ripe apples. The costume of the girl shimmers dramatically being painted on the piece of mother-of-pearl. Gold paint is used to detail some of the plants and the apples.
The box's exterior is covered with blue lacquer while the interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer. The box's sides are decorated with complex and very beautiful scan patterns (composed of gold and silver metal shapes glued to the box manually). The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2001 on the lid's interior.
