Liliana Slaeva is the author of this beautiful oval box. The work is called "Indian Summer" and shows happy Russian peasant woman with the baskets full of fresh and ripe ashberries.
The scene is painted in orange and brown tones of oils over gold metal powder that helps to strengthen the color palette and fill the composition with a magic glow.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The bottom part of the box's body is decorated with a simple gold pattern. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, Fedoskino and the year of 2010.
