Igor Isaev from the village of Fedoskino is the author of this stunning box. It shows a peaceful view of the ancient Russian town of Suzdal. In the background we can see the grandeur of the Intercession Cathedral while in the foreground we can observe a special charm of the Russian rural wooden architecture. The scene is painted in light brown tones suitable for depiction of an autumn season. This palette is enlivened by silver powder that highlights the trees and the architecture.
The box's exterior is beautifully decorated. The scene is framed with a wide gold band. Another wide gold band can be found decorating the bottom part of the box's body. The box's exterior imitates a stone color: tiny black veins are scattered against the light grey background. The box's interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs highlighted with gold paint. The work is signed with the name of the artist, the village of Fedoskino, the year of 2010 and the title.
