This brilliantly painted eye-glasses holder box is a creation of Yuriy Aldoshkin from the village of Fedoskino. Using white, light gray and blue tones oil paints he has managed to express the beauty on Russian countryside in winter. Radiance of the sunset has achieved with the help of mother-of-pearl inlay that shines brilliantly with a variety of undertones raging from green to pink. Gold powder has been used to enhance the architecture of peasant houses. The scene is framed with a wide gold line.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino.
