This alluring box is a creation of Taisiya Danchenko from the village of Fedoskino. The work is called "A Life Thread", and shows a beautiful lady holding scissors and a thread in her hands. She wears the top head that looks like a wardrobe diminished in size. The scene is painted in bright tempera paints. Some elements of the lady's costume shine brightly being painted in gold and aluminum. The scene is framed with a gold wavy line. On the box's reverse side the artist has painted sketches that depict fashionable clothes of the beginning of the twentieth century.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Violet lacquer mixed with gold powder is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes its interior. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the title on the box's reverse side.
