This small semi-spherical box is a creation of the well-known artist Natalya Orlova. The work is called "Foundling", and shows the huge, fantastical bird that sheltered a little girl. The palette is rich but the predominance is given to various shades of green and brown oils. Gold metal powder is mixed into oils to enhance some elements of the composition such as the stones and the girl's hat. The painting is spread on the box's lid and its sides while the box's exterior bottom imitates a stone color (brown spots are scattered against the light brown background). The box's interior is decorated with the alluring pattern composed of golden flowers scattered against the silver background. In the middle of each flower a shining glass bead is glued.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene and the box rests on four glass beads. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2010 on the box's exterior bottom.
