This superb quality set of a box and a tray was created by the talented Natalya Orlova of Fedoskino. Breathtaking artistry announces this animated perfection. This beautiful set will intrigue and entertain for many years to come!!!
The work is called "The Sea Tsar", and features the Sea Tsar and mermaids, his favorite servants. Colors become brighter from the top of the sphere on which the main composition is painted to the tray .
The lid features the face of the Sea Tsar, while on the sphere's sides the artist continues to paint the underwater world filled with the bubbles of air, different types of fishes , water-plants and underwater creatures. Various shades of blue dominate here. Aluminum and gold paint is used to highlight fishes and water-plants .Silver dust is spread throughout the composition both on the lid and the sides.
The base is covered with light blue air bubbles scattered against the dark blue background. The interior of the box is also painted is painted with Sea fishes. Four pearl beads glued to the base and serve like the legs for the box.
In the center of the lid's interior there is a small oval piece of mother-of-pearl on which the artist has painted her name, the village of Fedoskino, the year of 2011, and the title in blue oils .
The box is originally shaped, and can be put on the tray (or accompanying base). The box and a tray are made out of paper-mache. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition.
Two beautiful mermaids has painted on a tray. In the center of the tray the artist again has written her name, the village of Fedoskino, the year of 2011, and the title. Four pearl beads has glued to the base and serve like the legs for the tray.
