This alluring box is a creation of Taisiya Danchenko from the village of Fedoskino. The work is called "Magical Pets", and shows a girl holding a cage with a bird in her hands. She wears the hat that looks like a bowler and several white mouses are walking inside and on the top of it. The scene is painted in bright tempera paints. Some elements of the lady's costume shine brightly being painted in gold and aluminum.
The scene is framed with a gold round beads. On the box's reverse side the artist has painted sketches of the birds in a cage.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Carrot-red lacquer mixed with gold powder is used to paint the exterior of the piece while the dark red lacquer completes its interior. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on four little beads glued to the bottom of the box. The work is signed with the artist's name and the title on the box's reverse side.
