While some of the artists choose traditional themes for their works, and paint their boxes keeping strictly to the classical Mstera, Palekh, Kholui or Fedoskino styles, the others try to create something new by experimenting with various art styles and techniques. This interesting box was drawn by a Top 10 Fedoskino artist Sergey Rogatov. It shows that these experiments within the boundaries of the Fedoskino lacquer miniature may be successful!
The work shows Paradise Garden painted with elements of the surreal style.On the front of the composition we can see a pair-Adam and Eve. Adam is having a bird in his hands while Eve has an apple. Under them we can see a hand of a Master with a brush in it.The snake is hiding in the bushes of an apple tree and we can see a paradise bird on the background. Details of the painting are amazing!
The box is made of paper-mache. The hinge is placed to the left of the composition and the box rests flat. the sides of the box are odored with an ornament painted in gold. The box is signed with the artist name at the bottom of the composition.
