This very detailed box is the creation of talented Yelena Aldoshkina from the village of Fedoskino. It features the picturesque view of old Moscow. In this box the artist has painted the panorama of Bolshay(Big) Ordynka Street located in a district called Zamoskvorechiye (that means over the Moskva River) in Moscow. The street is going all the way from Moscow Kremlin through Bolshoy Moskvoretskiy Bridge and to the south of Moscow. Working on this composition Yelena probably used an old photo made in the end of the eighteenth century. But,on the other hand, the street is still look like in the eighteen century. Not as many new buildings has appeared and that magnify enthusiasts of an old Moscow to it.
The palette is filled with white and pale brown tones of oils that correspond to the color palette of winter. Silver powder is used to paint the domes of the cathedrals, to highlight the roofs and the pavement.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The box's sides are decorated with two parallel silver lines. The lid is hinged from the left of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
