Talented artist Dmitriy Rogatov from the village of Fedoskino has created this interesting work. It depicts the characters of the Russian folklore. One of them- the Forest Spirit in front of stub and having a drink from a wooden bucket. Near him under the moonlight we can see a figure of a bear.on the other side of this vertically staying box we can see a nice mermaid, which appeared from the water of a swamp. Her figure is turned to a Forest man and a bear and the composition is continuing this way.
An artist has used a rare black-and-white pallet to paint this interesting composition. Aluminum paint highlights the characters' costumes, the Forest Spirit, Bear and Mermaid and some areas of the landscape.
The box's bottom is flat and covered with black lacquer; the box's interior is covered with red lacquer. The lid is hinged from the top of the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It is signed with the artist's name and the year of 2011.
